Sunday Blog

This week has been a rollercoaster week - ups and downs. Mid-week I missed a day of work because I was so tired I could not get out of bed. Sleeping away most of the day helped, but I could easily have spent a second day in bed. Instead, I went into work to finish the week out. It was a fairly normal work week (outside of missing one day). Nothing of great excitement to report. D traveled to Minneapolis for some training classes and presentation for which he was responsible. It went well and he received a gift card to Blockbuster for doing a good job.

Saturday was game day. D, B, C & R put on their blue and orange and headed to the stadium. I opted to stay home. The game was more exciting this week. They had fun. As unthrilling as it sounds, my evening was finishing the laundry, ironing and preparing my Sunday lesson. It was very satisfying to complete so much by the day's end. After several weeks of doing just the necessity of weekend work, it was so pleasing to get everything done. I even cleaned up the freezer and refrigerator.

A took E to meet her dad in Jerome this weekend. They went to Sun Valley for part of the weekend and E completely enjoyed being outside watching the trees, listening to the water and seeing the ducks. She definitely is a nature girl. She loves being outside. I missed having them around; however, I think that is why I got so much done this week. E has a tendency to demand your full attention.

This morning as I was dressing, I noticed a second bruise on my leg. Earlier in the week, I was carrying a tub full of canning jars downstairs to put away and caught my foot on the edge of the treadmill. I crashed into the treadmill and the rocking chair, broke a jar and smacked both knees, a wrist and an ankle. The scrap on my wrist is healed, the ankle only ached for the evening, but my wrist and knees are both fairly tender, besides two rather large bruises. I guess I just misjudged the distance between me and the treadmill. It sort of worries me, though, because I've tripped or fallen three times now in as many months. That's not my norm.

Sorry I have not fun photos to add this time around. I ordered a new sofa and loveseat for the livingroom and am planning to paint the room before they arrive. I'll take a picture and send it when it's finished.

Welcome to My Blog

The kids are pushing me into the world of blog, which is a bit overwhelming to me at the moment. After I get used to it, I most likely will enjoy it. I haven't written a newsletter for some time, so I'll highlight a few of the summer's events. Two babies born, a wedding, and a new job. That's basically it and now that the excitement is dying down, I've started working on a few projects. I painted the bathroom after getting a new exhaust fan installed. Then took on the job of painting the lazy room. I've attached some pictures of the finished product.

This is the lazy room. If you remember, it was white walls and stenciling around the window. The girls did the stenciling when they were in junior high school, so it's been a while since we painted this room.

This the the bathroom. I kept blue, but changed it to more of a aqua blue and only on one wall. The tan on the other walls really opens up the room. It feels nice and clean now.

This weekend we ordered a new sofa for the livingroom. So that will be the next painting project. I have three weeks to get it ready for the new furniture. We are giving the sofa and loveseat we currently have to C & R. They are tired of living with the $20 loveseat that C bought several years ago. I'd say she got her money's worth from that purchase.
